Late, No-show, and Cancellation Policy...
We have a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals. We will cancel your appointment after 15 minutes in consideration of other scheduled clients. Cancellations under 24 hours notice will be charged for the session time. Life happens and because of this we allow one "Oops, I forgot!" cancellation. For clients with prepaid sessions, missed appointments and "no shows" will count as a session against package unless it can be rescheduled for another day that week. We understand illness and other life events can cause one to need to cancel last minute so we reserve the right to waive fees on a case by case basis.

Do you take insurance?
We do not bill insurance nor do we take HSA or FSA cards. This system is not a medical device nor are we a medical provider hence we are not able to provide, or include diagnostic or billing codes on our invoices. Our invoices provide enough information for you to submit to your insurance should you choose to pursue reimbursement however, it is not guaranteed.
Are you controlling my mind?
Our process does not push or pull your brain to do anything so no, we are not controlling your mind. Changes and shifts in behavior that happen on your journey with NeurOptimal® are initiated by your own brains desire to self regulate. This system does not force your brain to perform at a certain frequency nor does it tell it what to do. Instead, it uses your brain's natural ability to quickly adapt to new information presented during your session to learn new patterns of perception and therefore new ways of coping with stressors.
What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is the use of a feedback loop to generate information that is then used as input to create change in your brain. Feedback is what happens when a system uses output as the input as information to get the desired output. The system, in this case, is your brain and the output is the voltage changes happening in your brain that is sensed by the NeurOptimal® equipment. That information becomes the the "input" being played back to your brain via interruptions in an audio track you are listening to. NeurOptimal® uses the complex mathematics of how the brain understands and adapts to new information to affect our perception of ourselves and stressors.
I heard neurofeedback can have negative side effects.
This system prides itself on not having "side effects" as you cannot over train your brain using NeurOptimal®. Over 4 million hours have been logged with trainers across the world and not one adverse side effect! Like all modalities of self-care; therapy, meditation, exercise, your body or mind will go through a period of adjustment. With NeurOptimal®, it's common for your awareness of yourself and others to change, more "A-ha" moments and connections between feelings and behavior, which to some may be uncomfortable at first.
Why are there no side effects?
First, NeurOptimal® only provides the brain with information it’s not forcing training to happen which potentially causes overtraining and adverse side effects. With NeurOptimal® we do not train according to your diagnosis. Rather, we train your whole brain so training is balanced. Second, because NeurOptimal® has Auto Navigation there is no chance that the operator can incorrectly train your brain. This is by no means a one size fits all concept rather a tailored session for the brain you have that day you train. Each session is your first and last. Much like a yoga class, you work with the body you came in with, in this case the brain you came in with!
Can NeurOptimal® make me smarter?
Sessions NeurOptimal® with may help you feel more focused and clear minded so you can access the information you have more easily or be able to take in information and retain it. For example, say you get nervous taking tests and the result is that you perform poorly. What if you go into the test instead feeling relaxed, confident and thinking clearly rather than worrying about the event of test-taking or the distractions of the sounds of the quiet room. Chances are you’ll perform better just because of your state of mind.
How many sessions does it take?
The answer to this is subjective to each client. We all respond differently. Some experience profound shifts after the first few sessions, others it may take significantly more. We don't like to put a number on this as it is different for each client. This is not a quick fix and more of a journey to see where it takes you. Putting you in control of what you need. The bulk of what NeurOptimal® will do for you happens after the first initial sessions. Training your brain takes time and patience. The final number of sessions you do is based on how you are feeling and what shifts you are seeing. Whatever the number ends up being, you are giving yourself the gift of resiliency, self-regulation, and balance in response to stress!
The NeurOptimal® system uses live data samples taken throughout your active session to provide real time feedback. No brain mapping will be performed as it is a tool used to diagnose disorders to dictate protocol used during sessions. NeurOptimal® does not rely on diagnoses and predetermined protocols to help brains perform more optimally.
Why am I tired after a session?
Your brain may be tired after a session but it usually goes away after you get up and move or after a short rest. NeurOptimal® scans your brain 256 times a second during your 33 min session, a bit like your brain running a marathon. As you train, you may find that you are not as tired after sessions as you were in the beginning. Doing neurofeedback with NeurOptimal® is like going back to the gym after it’s been a while, but for your brain. When you train either your muscles or your brain you build strength, resilience, and balance!
